Biltong is an incredibly healthy protein snack that is centuries old tradition in South Africa. It is a strip of beef that has been air dried, full of flavor, high in protein and makes for a delicious healthy snack.
How is Biltong made?
Our biltong is created using only five of the best quality natural ingredients. 100% grass fed beef is marinated in malt vinegar, covered in natural spices, hung to air dry and then thinly sliced for an incredibly delicious and healthy snack.
Biltong vs Jerky
A common misconception is that Biltong and Jerky are the same product with different names, they look very similar, but the process is completely different. Biltong is marinated in malt vinegar, covered in natural spices, air dried and then cut into thin strips. Jerky is cut into strips first, marinated, (often in sauces that are full of sugar) and then cooked. They have very different textures. Jerky is dryer, tougher and more chewy, whereas biltong is softer & almost a medium rare texture.
